Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Science Engineer with strong Python backend development experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data science methodologies and machine learning algorithms, coupled with the ability to design and implement scalable backend systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that drive significant business impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex business problems.
- Perform data exploration, feature engineering, and predictive modeling.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python frameworks.
- Integrate machine learning models into production environments with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Create and optimize data pipelines for ETL processes.
- Work closely with data engineers to ensure seamless data flow and integrity.
- Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and stakeholders to align data science initiatives with business goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.
- Present insights and recommendations through dashboards and reports using visualization tools.
- Communicate complex analytical results to non-technical audiences.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in data science and backend technologies.
- Propose innovative solutions to enhance existing systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science or related roles.
- Proven experience in backend development using Python.
- Proficiency in Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Strong experience with Python web frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling.
- Ability to process, clean, and verify the integrity of large datasets.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Relevant certifications in data science, machine learning, or cloud computing.
- Experience in [insert specific industry, e.g., finance, healthcare, e-commerce], including knowledge of industry-specific data and regulations.
