A leading global information and communication technology company are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join the team in Bracknell to work on defence and security based projects. This role involves participating in the rollout of a significant Cyber Project for a large government client and will therefore the successful candidate will require SC clearance already.
This is an initial 12-month contract and will be inside IR35 with a daily rate up to £600 per day.
The role is based onsite 5 days a week due to project requirements and is based at the Bracknell office.
Juniper/Cisco knowledge is required and Gigamon is desirable, for those not familiar with Gigamon this will be taught.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remote configuration of hardware under the direction of a team lead.
- Build, configure, and harden Juniper switches according to build guides.
- Build and configure Gigamon physical devices and connect/onboard them to the Gigavue FM Management server.
- Visit customer sites to install hardware within racks.
- Provide remote support of hardware during customer testing.
- Update the PM and team lead regarding progress.
- Engage with the service teams to ensure new hardware is effectively taken into support.
Mandatory Skills:
- Extensive network engineer experience, with very strong Juniper integration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team to implement hardware into customer sites.
- Ability to work well within a team and develop positive working relationships with other project teams.
- Clear communication skills when interacting with peers, management, and customers.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working for large government customers.
- Self-starter who can implement solutions with minimal supervision and think through issues, providing recommendations to fix them.
