Your Opportunity

As the Project Manager, International Program Delivery, you will be responsible for:

  • Successfully managing key accounts and projects related to TAFE Queensland’s international (offshore) program delivery.
  • Coordinating TAFE Queensland’s international projects, contracts and offshore delivery to ensure alignment with organisational strategy, and ensure milestones, deliverables and outcomes are achieved.
  • Managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of offshore delivery projects to achieve strategic objectives for TAFE Queensland’s International portfolio.


This position reports to the Director, International Program Delivery.

This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity.

The position will be based primarily at South Brisbane however, you may negotiate to work at another TAFE Queensland campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of TAFE Queensland International delivery programs, projects and contracts demonstrating high level stakeholder engagement, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop, implement and monitor project plans and schedules including the coordination of activities or teams associated with achieving the project objectives within the agreed scope.
  • Manage liaise, consult and negotiate effectively with project stakeholders and team members in relation to project activities.
  • Lead the project planning process to ensure a seamless approach in-line with TAFE Queensland Policy and Procedures, project scope and related project activities, including leading the prioritisation activities of deliverable requirements for each project stage.
  • Engage with all region’s general managers, leadership teams and line managers to ensure they remain well informed of coming changes and are initiating actions or engagement where required.
  • Work independently, and under limited guidance to achieve agreed project objectives and program outcomes.
  • Prepare submissions, briefing materials, project budget reports, status reports, stage reports and reports for senior management and the project executive as required and in-line with project methodology.
  • Assess, manage, resolve and escalate (if necessary) risks and issues throughout the project, including the management of Risk & Issues Registers throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as delegated by the Director, International Program Delivery and broader TQIE Leadership Team.


How You Will Be Assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • High level of program/project management skills, particularly in international jurisdictions, with the ability to manage successful project outcomes.
  • High level communication, consultation and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse range of key stakeholders, including third party service providers where required.
  • High level presentation skills at executive level to ensure the project status and issues reporting is communicated effectively to key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects and project deliverables that contribute to the implementation of strategic direction, problem solving, budget management, planning and reporting within a large organisation.
  • High level ability to lead, build and sustain positive relationships with team members, vendors, stakeholders and clients and is responsive to client and stakeholder needs and expectations.


Highly Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within an educational organisation, preferably TVET management or a development program, with extensive experience in international settings, particularly in the Pacific.
  • Experience working in aid and development projects, including those funded by the Australian Government.
