DevOps Engineer – AWS & Data Engineering
We are looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps/Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), data engineering (AWS Glue), automation (Python), and monitoring solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Fluency in German at the C1 level is Preferable, as the role involves regular interaction with German-speaking stakeholders and teams.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using Terraform on AWS.
- Automate provisioning and management of AWS resources, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and more.
Data Engineering & AWS Glue
- Develop and maintain AWS Glue jobs for ETL and data transformation processes.
- Optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and data quality.
Monitoring & Dashboards
- Set up monitoring and alerting systems using CloudWatch, Grafana, or similar tools.
- Build dashboards for infrastructure and application performance analytics.
Automation & Scripting
- Develop robust Python scripts for automation, data processing, and system integration.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins.
Security & Compliance
- Implement best practices for cloud security, cost optimization, and scalability.
- Manage IAM policies and enforce role-based access controls.
Collaboration & Agile Practices
- Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to support development and deployment needs.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives).
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with AWS services and Terraform.
- Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Glue and ETL pipelines.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, or equivalent.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of cloud security principles and IAM configurations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
