We're early-stage, near-MVP, funded, and moving fast. As a founding engineer, you'll shape the architecture, define tech culture, and build the product powering our first customers. We embrace a San Francisco startup mindset: rapid iteration, full ownership, and building for scale.

What You'll Build

• AI Personalisation Engine
• Integrate in-house computer vision models with third-party AI services
• Build ML inference pipelines with auto-scaling (SageMaker/EC2)
• Implement real-time image and video processing at scale
• Multi-Service Backend
• Scalable APIs using Laravel GraphQL and Node.js microservices
• Event-driven architecture with AWS Lambda and SQS
• Database design with DynamoDB composite keys and S3 storage optimization
• Frontend & Embeddable Widgets
• Angular platform, React CRM, Next.js marketing site
• TypeScript widgets with Shadow DOM isolation and React components
• Real-time WebSocket connections with JWT authentication and auto-reconnect
• AWS Cloud Infrastructure
• CDK-based infrastructure with 15+ stacks
• Lambda, API Gateway WebSocket, CloudFront CDN
• Auto-scaling ML workloads and cost optimization
• Full-Stack Ownership
• End-to-end responsibility from ML model integration to deployment
• Performance optimization and cross-domain messaging
• Plugin architecture for merchant integration

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable systems for AI personalization at scale
• Deploy and optimize computer vision models and inference pipelines
• Build embeddable frontend components for merchant integration
• Manage AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, and automated deployments
• Define coding standards and development workflows
• Collaborate with founders to prioritise MVP features and iterate based on customer feedback

Required Skills

• Core Development
• 3+ years full-stack SaaS experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• AI/ML integration experience (PyTorch, TensorFlow, HuggingFace, or OpenAI APIs)
• Backend architecture experience with PHP/Laravel, Node.js, GraphQL, and REST APIs
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB preferred)
• Frontend Expertise
• React, Angular, or Next.js
• TypeScript, Web Components, Shadow DOM, cross-domain messaging
• Reactive programming patterns and modern state management
• Cloud & Infrastructure
• AWS: Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFront, SQS
• Infrastructure as Code: CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform
• Event-driven architecture and WebSocket systems
• Startup Mindset
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration
• Full ownership of features and systems
