Lead AI Python Engineer

EPAM is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Python Engineer to join our Python AI Competence Center.

In this role, you will tackle complex technical challenges, drive innovation in Generative AI, and deliver cutting-edge AI-powered solutions across both external client projects and our in-house products.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and deploy cloud-native, AI-driven applications using Python frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI, etc.)
• Integrate and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and other Generative AI techniques into real-world solutions
• Enhance and refine AI systems within our in-house products, improving the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business objectives into scalable AI-powered solutions
• Address and resolve complex challenges across technical, infrastructural, and production environments
• Write maintainable, well-documented, and high-quality code, following industry standards and best practices
• Continuously explore and adopt emerging technologies in Python, cloud computing, and AI to drive innovation and maintain cutting-edge development practices

Requirements

• Proven expertise in software development at a Senior to Architect level, with strong hands-on coding and implementation skills
• Advanced proficiency in Python, with practical experience using frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI) and integrating AI capabilities
• Solid background in Generative AI, including production-level experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model integration
• Familiarity with Large Language Models and Retrieval Augmented Generation
• Proficiency in cloud computing with hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset, capable of driving outcomes in cross-functional teams
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Passion for continuous growth in the GenAI domain and enthusiasm for contributing to both in-house product development and external AI-driven projects

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Cloud Native architectures and experience with tools like Kubernetes, Docker and microservices

Salary range €4.5K-€6.5K gross, based on your experience and interview results.
