AKY X is a London-founded, Bucharest-based design and technology studio. We partner with early-stage startups in SaaS, AI, and Web3, helping them launch AI-powered MVPs, dashboards, and user-centric digital products at lightning speed. The Role

As a Junior Software Engineer Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience working across live startup projects. You’ll collaborate with our design team, founder, and freelancers to build functional prototypes, MVPs, and web applications. This role is perfect for students or recent graduates who want exposure to real client work in a fast-moving startup/agency hybrid environment.

Objectives for this Role

• Assist in the development of MVPs, landing pages, and dashboards using modern web technologies
• Collaborate with designers to translate Figma wireframes/UI into responsive front-end code
• Support integration of APIs (for example AI APIs, authentication, payments)
• Write clean, maintainable code under guidance and participate in code reviews
• Learn and contribute to agile workflows, stand-ups, and sprint reviews
• Gain exposure to early product validation, lean startup methods, and fast prototyping

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Build and test front-end components (React, Next.js, or Framer-based projects)
• Work on backend basics (Node.js, Express, Supabase/Firebase) for small features
• Debug, fix bugs, and write simple unit tests with mentorship
• Assist with documentation (Notion, GitHub README, API references)
• Join team check-ins, present progress, and ask for feedback proactively
• Explore and experiment with AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, GPT-5)

Your Skills

• Basic knowledge of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with React/Next.js or willingness to learn quickly
• Understanding of Git/GitHub and version control workflows
• Exposure to back-end fundamentals (Node.js, REST APIs, databases)
• Bonus: experience with Framer, Supabase, or AI APIs (OpenAI, Vapi, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and eagerness to learn fast
• Good communication skills in English

Experience / Background

• Studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
• Portfolio, GitHub projects, or university projects demonstrating coding ability
• No formal work experience required — we value potential, not titles
