We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join a product team focused on customer-facing recommendation systems. In this role, you will design and implement scalable ML solutions with a strong emphasis on personalization and high-availability APIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain machine learning pipelines using Vertex AI Pipelines or Kubeflow.
- Work with BigQuery, SQL, and DBT to handle data modeling and transformations.
- Implement orchestration workflows using Cloud Composer or Airflow.
- Ensure security and compliance through proper use of IAM, service accounts, and Data Catalog.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code principles for consistent and automated deployments.
- Contribute to system design, data modeling, and best practices for CI/CD.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Cloud expertise (GCP focus): Vertex AI Pipelines/Kubeflow, BigQuery & advanced SQL, Cloud Composer/Airflow, IAM & service accounts, Data Catalog, Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong knowledge of Python with deep understanding of OOP, unit/e2e testing, and code quality tools (flake8, mypy, black, pre-commit, SonarQube).
- Proficiency with Unix & shell scripting, including Docker setup and usage.
- Experience with Git (PRs, merge conflict resolution, CI/CD pipeline creation in GitHub Actions).
- Solid understanding of data modeling and overall system design.
- Familiarity with Dataflow, Kubernetes, and advanced DBT usage (preferably in GCP environments).
- Proactive and solution-oriented, with a strong ability to tackle new challenges.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for high-quality code, peer reviews, and continuous improvement.
