We're a team of 21 (soon to be 22 👋🏾), operating from a single facility outside Toronto (Canada). We’re a hybrid workplace, with some teammates working remotely for part of the work week, and some working fully remote from Canada and Pakistan.

About the Role

We're looking for a remote Print Production Designer to add technical expertise to our art department while handling high-volume production in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you'll bridge creative design and technical production, processing 50+ pre-press files daily while creating bold, memorable designs for Canadian souvenir apparel. You'll work independently while collaborating with the team, balancing beautiful design with printable files that work flawlessly on garments, developing graphics that capture attention and authentically represent Canadian landmarks and culture.

This is fundamentally a high-volume production role with creative elements – you'll embrace the technical work that forms our business backbone while contributing to our AI-driven process of generating massive design output to select the best 20-40% for 2-day execution. Beyond daily production, you'll elevate our art department through technical troubleshooting, process improvements, and design leadership that helps expand our creative capabilities.

Our IDEAL CANDIDATE brings 3-5 years of garment screen printing and graphic design experience – you're the rare Designer-Producer who handles technical work without complaint. You execute quickly with zero-error accuracy when working independently, learn from mistakes without repeating them, and bring high energy to the department. You're passionate about both technical and creative work, care deeply about quality output, and thrive in high-pressure production environments where your contribution directly reduces team stress and accelerates our capabilities through both exceptional execution and creative problem-solving.

Your performance will be measured by task completion speed (tracked for 2-day turnaround SLAs), production accuracy, response time, initiative, energy level, design quality, and ability to elevate team capabilities.

You'll join our Art department alongside 2 Production Designers (one specializing in pre-press, the other in design and presentations with overflow pre-press support). You’ll collaborate with our Sales team. This position reports directly to our Head of Art (who has 30 years of industry experience).

You’ll be doing things like:

• Print Production (Core Daily Grind): Converting designs into production-ready files for screen printing; colour separation and trapping; balancing artistic quality with printability; processing 50+ pre-press files daily with zero-error accuracy; leveraging time zone advantages to accelerate production cycles; contributing to 48-hour turnaround goal from creative brief to customer approval
• AI Tools & Production Optimization: Using custom AI tools that generate hundreds of designs per minute; implementing new AI technologies to improve workflows; optimizing the AI-to-production pipeline; producing high-volume design output to select the best 20-40% for execution
• Graphic Design for Canadian Markets: Creating designs for diverse Canadian customers; researching Canadian culture, geography, and history for authenticity; developing artwork for regional clients requiring specialized local knowledge (think: the Calgary Stampede); staying current with fashion and apparel design trends
• Technical Troubleshooting & Team Development: Troubleshooting vectorization and photographic image issues; prototyping new garment screen printing methods; expanding production capabilities; training team members on new processes and tools
• Client Presentation Development: Building PDF presentations using Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; creating visual narratives for customer approvals; preparing presentations for Head of Art review before they go to Sales team
• Process Management & Administration: Organizing files in cloud storage; maintaining and updating SOPs; tracking project timelines; ensuring quality control standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Skills & Qualifications

• 3-5 years of prior experience in roles like Production Artist, Print Production Designer, Graphic Designer, Garment Screen Printing Specialist, or related
• Portfolio demonstrating both design creativity and technical production work (include examples of garment screen printing projects and pre-press files if available; strong illustration, bold graphics, and visual impact preferred)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Office 365 proficiency across all tools and applications
• Experience creating PDF presentations for customer approval processes
• Garment screen printing production experience and pre-press process knowledge
• Typography, colour theory, and design fundamentals
• High-volume production environment experience
• Fast execution with zero-error accuracy when working independently
• Strong English communication for internal collaboration
• High energy, initiative, and genuine passion for the work
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to learn from mistakes
• Curiosity about Canadian culture, geography, and history

Bonus if you also have:

• Strong illustration and bold graphic design aesthetic
• Deep understanding of Canadian culture, geography, and history
• Experience with AI image tools and prompt engineering (Midjourney, ChatGPT)
• Passion for apparel trends, fashion, streetwear, or skate brands

Position Details

Working Hours: 4 hours of required overlap between 9AM-1PM ET (Toronto time); remaining daily 4 hours async. Some potential seasonal variability during busy production periods

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week), Exclusivity Preferred

Education: Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent experience, including strong design fundamentals

Level: Intermediate (3-5 years of relevant work experience)

Compensation: ~CAD $1,140–$1,408 (TRY 34K–42K)/month, based on experience and region. Structured as a Consultant Agreement (independent contractor), meaning you'll be responsible for your own taxes, benefits, and insurance.
