Title: Senior Cloud Network Engineer (DevOps background)
Duration: 12 mo contract to hire
Schedule: Mon-Fri Day Shift (core hours, EST) - 100% REMOTE
Compensation: $60-69/hr approx (potential flexibility based on candidate background)
Start Date: approx mid October 2025

Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in a hands-on technical Cloud Networking Engineering/DevOps enterprise environment (we are specifically looking for someone who has a DevOps background and strong knowledge/experience within Cloud Networking)
- 4+ years with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) & Linux
- Experience working in a DevOps engineering position supporting external customers environments
- 2+ years of experience with GitLab or Git for updating code
- 4+ years supporting TCP/IP, BGP (Border gateway protocol), and WAN technologies
- 4+ years with Networking concepts and protocols, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and load balancing
- 3+ years with Terraform, Python and/or Ansible for automation and configuration management
- 3+ years with VPN technologies for connectivity OpenVPN, WireGuard, and/or IPSec
Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Sr CNE to support a leader in the Software space; you would be a part of their Cloud Operations org and supporting the cloud networking environments/connectivity of their end clients AND internal users. As the Cloud engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and automation tools that support our development and deployment processes. You will also collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve network performance issues across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Conduct packet capture analysis to troubleshoot connectivity and latency problems
- Manage and configure firewalls, load balancers, and DNS/IP assignments
- Support and optimize BGP routing and other network protocols
- Collaborate with senior engineers on escalated issues and mentor junior team members
- Interface with customers to resolve technical issues and ensure network reliability
