🎯 Introduction

We’re looking for a Strong Junior Backend Engineer to join our team.

Your main stack is Node.js, but some tasks will involve Python, so basic knowledge or a willingness to learn it is important.

This is a long-term role for someone who wants to grow through hands-on work, not just “close tasks.”

Your first project will be part of a hardware solution for monitoring fish health, where you'll work on photo analysis features within a web interface.

Later, you’ll work on a social project focused on child care, as well as internal tools.

The tasks are ready — we’re looking for someone who: takes ownership, communicates well in a team, and isn't afraid of learning new technologies.

We’re not looking for a know-it-all. We value people who enjoy varied projects, want to keep learning, and care about building meaningful products, not just writing code.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain backend services and business logic
  • Work with relational and non-relational databases to store user profiles, events, and other domain data
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and WebSocket-based real-time features
  • Optimize application performance and handle scalability challenges
  • Integrate third-party systems: payment providers, localization tools, etc.
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive data (e.g. personal information, transactions)
  • Collaborate with the frontend team to align API structure and data flows


Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience with Node.js, including work with Nest.js, Express.js, or Feathers.js
  • Basic experience with Python, particularly with Django or FastAPI
  • Experience building REST APIs; solid understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, CORS, and WebSocket
  • Experience working with databases: PostgreSQL and MongoDB/Redis
  • Understanding of data structures, relationship types (one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-many), indexes, and transactions
  • Ability to design clean and maintainable backend architecture
  • English level B1 or higher (for reading documentation and written communication)
