Senior Product Designer

About the role

The Senior Product Designer shapes digital experiences that meet user needs and create measurable value. Reporting to the Product Design Manager within the Experience Insights and Design function of the Digital & Technology Group, you will lead and mentor in the design of internal and external digital products and tools.

Key responsibilities

• Drive user-centred and evidence-based design using interviews, research, analytics, personas, user journeys, prototyping, testing, and high-fidelity UI specifications
• Lead large-scale digital product design and maintain the design system for consistency and agility
• Work in an agile environment and collaborate across disciplines to deliver outcomes for customers and the business
• Champion customer centricity to improve and innovate
• Mentor product designers and provide skills training
• Ensure records meet organisational and legislative standards

Desirable criteria

• Tertiary qualification in IT, Design, or Psychology
• Knowledge of business or functional analysis
• Understanding of usability and accessibility standards including WCAG 2 compliance
• Commercial awareness and strong problem-solving skills

Skills and experience

• Five or more years in UX, UI, or Product Design
• Proven success designing high-traffic or high-profile digital products
• Strong interaction design skills with knowledge of how developers build components
• Ability to deliver valued UI specifications using Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Xd
• Experience conducting and synthesising user research and applying design thinking
• Experience working in agile teams with collaborative practices
• Portfolio showing polished, on-brand product design
• Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
