Project Planner / Scheduler (International EPC Project)
We are looking for a highly experienced Project Planner / Scheduler to support a major international EPC project in the energy sector. The assignment spans approximately 4 years, covering both engineering and site execution phases, with work initially office-based (partly remote) and later full-time on site.
This role is open to both freelancers and contractors who are motivated by long-term international assignments.
Role Overview
As Project Planner / Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring the overall project schedule to ensure on-time delivery across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and site teams during the office phase, and later transition to the site, where you will validate subcontractor progress and provide reliable reporting for leadership and the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a Level 3 CPM schedule covering all project phases
- Establish and manage baseline schedules and maintain monthly forecast updates
- Identify and communicate critical paths, near-critical activities, and float
- Prepare schedules in Primavera (P6) or MS Project
- Provide outputs in both native and PDF formats, including Gantt charts, progress tables, and variance analyses
- Ensure logical structure, coding, and proper integration across disciplines.
During the engineering phase (approx. 2 years, office-based with partial remote work):
- Collaborate with design and procurement teams on deliverables and interfaces
- Reflect vendor milestones and document reviews in the schedule
During the construction & commissioning phase (approx. 2 years, site-based):
- Collect, validate, and consolidate progress data from subcontractors
- Verify reported progress against actual performance
- Support site teams with short-term planning and look-ahead schedules
- Support preparation of monthly progress reports and leadership/client presentations
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in large industrial or EPC projects
- High-level expertise in Primavera (P6) or similar and solid CPM scheduling skills
- Proven experience preparing and managing Level 3 schedules with complex interfaces
- Ability to collect, interpret, and verify subcontractor progress data
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in multicultural teams
- Fluent English (German or Finnish are a plus)
- EU-based and able to obtain an A1 certificate

- Project-based role (approx. 4 years total)
- Initial engineering phase in Finland (Tampere) – office-based with partial remote flexibility
- Followed by site-based phase in Germany (Berlin) during construction and commissioning
