As an Associate Art Director at AKQA Berlin, this entry-level position offers the chance to bring visual thinking, curiosity, and originality to the team. This role is ideal for an emerging talent looking to develop their skills and make a significant impact early in their career. You’ll help define the look and feel of ideas — from moodboards to campaign executions and final presentations. Whether it’s a brand identity, a film storyboard, a social activation, or an emerging digital format, you’ll contribute with fresh perspectives and sharp visual storytelling.
Role Requirements
- Develop and execute visual concepts across campaigns, platforms, and formats
- Contribute ideas to campaign concepts, brand platforms, and storytelling approaches
- Explore different ways of expressing brands and ideas through imagery, typography, and compositions.
- Partner with copywriters, designers, strategists, and technologists to create integrated campaigns
- Stay inspired by culture, art, technology, and design, feeding new references and ideas to the team
- Comfortable moving from concept to execution, transforming raw ideas into crafted, impactful visuals
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A portfolio that demonstrates both conceptual thinking and visual craft
- Ability to articulate ideas visually and verbally, with the confidence to share them in a team setting
- Confident using Figma, Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite
- Curiosity about how creativity intersects with technology, culture, and storytelling
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Confident speaking in English; German is a plus
- Excited to experiment with new tools (motion, 3D, AI, AR/VR) to expand creative possibilities
- Collaborative and positive when working with cross-disciplinary teams
- Previous experience in a creative environment — through internships, freelance work, or a first agency role
