About the role:
At Area of People, we build more than just software: we create livable neighborhoods. Our AI-driven community platform connects residents with each other and with real estate providers - from investors to housing associations. This way, we support them in measurably strengthening their social impact.
Right now, we are looking for an iOS Developer who thrives in a scale-up environment, where priorities shift and outcomes matter more than output. This role is not about just shipping features, it’s about owning the full lifecycle of our resident-facing iOS app: building, iterating, and ensuring the app remains reliable, scalable, and impactful as we grow.
In this role you will:
- Own the development of our native iOS application (Swift, UIKit/SwiftUI).
- Build new features end-to-end, from architecture to App Store release.
- Collaborate closely with product, UX/UI, backend, web, and Android to deliver consistent and high-quality experiences.
- Ensure scalability and performance through profiling, optimization, and solid architecture choices.
- Implement and maintain integrations with APIs and backend services.
- Follow and apply accessibility and design system guidelines.
- Track adoption, performance, and user feedback to guide iteration.
- Act as the iOS counterpart to the Android developer, ensuring feature parity.
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong skills in Swift and iOS frameworks (UIKit/SwiftUI, MVVM or Clean Architecture).
- Experience integrating APIs and working in cross-functional teams.
- Awareness of design systems, accessibility, and good UX practices.
- Ownership mindset: comfortable shipping features independently.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Skills and experience that will help you succeed:
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, etc.).
- Experience with high-usage consumer apps.
- Background in SaaS or B2B2C platforms.
What we can offer you:
- A gross monthly salary between €4000 - €5500 (32–40 hours per week, depending on experience).
- Lunch at the office.
- Office with a view from the Jaarbeurs Innovation Mile, right next to Utrecht Central Station.
- Hybrid working (from home, at the office, or with clients).
- A €350 home office setup allowance.
- A personal development budget with full room to grow your skills.
- 25 vacation days (based on 40 hours).
- Pension scheme, travel allowance, and a MacBook.
- Team outing and inspiring sessions.
- Opportunities to grow within a fast-growing, innovative scale-up.
