Job Description

Experience required

  • A minimum of 10 years' relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer or equivalent.
  • Substantial background in software engineering, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable code across multiple projects and technologies.
  • Deep practical knowledge of key craftsmanship techniques such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), pair programming, clean code principles, refactoring, and continuous integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and upskill software teams, including facilitating workshops, code reviews, and technical sessions.
  • Strong experience in applying agile methodologies and technical practices within development teams, ensuring alignment with agile values and iterative delivery.
  • Ability to identify and address technical debt, promote coding standards, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within engineering teams.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-changing environments, with a flexible and adaptive approach.
  • Familiarity with the banking sector is desirable.

Responsibilities

As an Agile Software Craftmanship Coach, your responsibilities will include:

  • Mentor and guide development teams in best practices for software engineering, focusing on code quality, maintainability, and technical excellence.
  • Facilitate workshops, code reviews, and technical sessions to introduce and embed principles such as TDD, pair programming, clean code, and refactoring.
  • Collaborate with team leads to establish and uphold coding standards, development guidelines, and quality benchmarks.
  • Support agile technical practices, ensuring alignment with agile values and iterative delivery.
  • Advise on managing technical debt and architectural challenges, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth, fostering a strong engineering community within the organization.
