About the team + role

The Backend Platform team’s mission is to enable fast, safe, and delightful backend development at scale. We focus on solving platform-level challenges that impact every backend engineer at Robinhood — from standardizing frameworks and securing dependencies to simplifying tooling and reducing developer friction. Our work powers the infrastructure behind every product team’s success.

As a Software Developer, you’ll help shape the foundational technologies that support Robinhood’s engineering velocity. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with backend experience who’s excited to deepen their skills in infrastructure, developer tooling, and internal platform development. You’ll contribute to code that impacts hundreds of engineers — while learning from experts and gradually owning areas like static analysis pipelines, common libraries, and IDE workflows. We're looking for curious, growth-oriented engineers eager to make an impact while learning new technologies!

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to internal frameworks, linters, formatters, and tooling used by Robinhood's backend teams
• Build features that improve the developer experience — CLI tools, or onboarding automation
• Partner with experienced engineers on projects that improve safety, code quality, and developer happiness
• Help support and maintain critical components like Django libraries, and Protobuf schemas
• Collaborate across the engineering org to identify friction points in backend development and propose solutions
  
  

What You Bring

• Significant experience building scalable backend systems in Go and/or Python
• Deep familiarity with server-side frameworks such as Django or Go-based systems
• Strong track record designing or maintaining internal developer platforms or shared infrastructure
• Experience guiding technical decisions, and contributing to team-wide strategies
• Passion for developer productivity, quality engineering practices, and thoughtful abstraction

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed.
