📍 Location: Toronto ON (Hybrid: 2 days in-office)

💰 Compensation:

• T4: $83.68/hr
• INC: $97.10/hr
• 📄 Contract Length: 12 months (possibility of extension or conversion to FTE)
• 🕘 Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a Java Developer to join our Global Trading Solutions (GTS) Trading Systems team. In this role, you will build and enhance mission-critical components of our electronic FX trading platform. This is a hands-on development role where you’ll work with high-performance, low-latency systems that directly impact trading operations.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and low-latency software for FX trading systems.
• Implement efficient algorithms and data structures optimized for performance.
• Create test cases and ensure stability, reliability, and resilience of systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system enhancements.
• Communicate with operations teams on new features and strategy behavior.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform independent root-cause analysis.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with minimal supervision.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong multi-threading and performance optimization background.
• Experience developing low-latency trading systems.
• Solid understanding of financial markets and electronic trading workflows.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol and market data integration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Collaborative team player with mentoring experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• FX trading or capital markets systems experience.
• Experience with profiling tools and latency measurement.
• Exposure to C# or other complementary technologies.
• Knowledge of containerization and cloud-native architectures.
