Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build robust, scalable iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Write clean, testable, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on performance and reliability.
- Leverage Apple APIs (e.g., LocalAuthentication, CommonCrypto) to deliver elegant, real-world solutions.
- Optimize performance using profiling tools, concurrency strategies, and thoughtful system design.
- Mentor other developers and help shape the technical culture of our Calgary office.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development (not replace it), enabling deeper problem-solving and impact.
Must-have Skills
- 7+ years of iOS native mobile development experience.
- Strong computer science fundamentals: memory management, data structures, algorithms, concurrency.
- Proven expertise in UIKit, Swift, SwiftUI, and the broader Apple ecosystem.
- Experience designing modular, scalable, and testable architectures (MVC, MVVM, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, app signing, provisioning, Instruments, and the full lifecycle of an iOS app.
- Strong communication skills: able to explain decisions clearly and collaborate effectively.
- Advanced English proficiency (B2+/C1) to communicate with global teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Nice-to-have
- Experience mentoring or leading development teams.
- Familiarity with cloud services, GraphQL, Firebase, or other backend integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to balance curiosity, craftsmanship, and pragmatism in problem-solving.
- Professional maturity in using AI tools to enhance workflows without substituting foundational knowledge.
Work Model
This role follows a hybrid work model: 3 days per week in our Calgary office, 2 days from home.
