Our client is a fast-growing seed-stage startup on a mission to bring enterprise-grade marketing tools to Main Street businesses. Backed by top investors and already live with major SaaS partners reaching hundreds of thousands of end users, they’re building embeddable APIs and UIs that make email, SMS, loyalty, and more accessible to small businesses everywhere.

This is a rare opportunity to join as a founding engineer, one of the very first non-founder hires, and help shape both the product and the culture. If you’re looking for real ownership, fast momentum, and a chance to solve meaningful problems for the backbone of the economy, this is it.

Why Join

  • Impact from day one: Everything you build will touch real businesses across industries like fitness, restaurants, salons, and beyond.
  • Founding-level ownership: Shape technical direction, product decisions, and company culture.
  • Strong foundation: $2M in seed funding, years of runway, and an ambitious founding team with experience at top startups.
  • Top-of-market comp: Competitive salary + equity, health/dental/vision, 401k, relocation support, and perks like team lunches and events.

What You’ll Do

  • Build fullstack features across frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Rails/Postgres/Redis/AWS).
  • Design and implement APIs and embeddable components that power growth for SMBs.
  • Partner with the founding team to take projects from 0→1, move fast, and ship to production.
  • Split your time ~50% frontend / 50% backend.

What We’re Looking For

  • CS degree from a top program or 5+ years as a software engineer at a high-growth startup or top tech company (e.g. Stripe, Plaid, Notion, Gusto, Brex, etc.).
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects or fast career progression.
  • Strong React skills plus backend experience (Rails preferred, open to other languages if flexible).
  • Evidence of coding passion (very active GitHub, impactful side projects).
  • A resourceful self-starter who thrives in early-stage environments.

Nice to Have: Ruby on Rails experience, early-stage startup background, fast growth company experience.
