Job Description
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is hiring a Product Design Intern, where you will be contributing to the design and usability of features of HPE’s GreenLake Platform and Software as a Service (SaaS). You will work closely with fellow designers, product managers and engineers to understand our users and their workflows to design innovative new features. You will collaborate in creating interactions, dashboards, and visualizations to help our users manage their environment. You will get exposure to enterprise technology design standards and process.
Our users are technologists including IT operators, engineers and domain experts managing hybrid cloud workloads and building cutting-edge AI-powered applications. Your efforts will help our users deliver impactful applications by making their work more productive and successful.
Start Date: January 2025 (~ 8 month)
Location: Galway preferred (or Ireland)
Mandatory Requirements: Enrolled in an University during the internship.

What Will Be Your Responsibilities
- Designing for product experiences, ensuring they are user-friendly.
- Collaborating with product, engineering, and your design team to understand problems and design solutions that meet user needs
- Stay up to date with design trends and emerging technologies and incorporating this knowledge into the design process where appropriate.
- Communicate design decisions and trade-offs
- Work with our research team as needed during usability testing and user research studies to gather insights on designs and ensure the products we develop meet customer needs.
- Work with our design system to ensure our products adhere to standards
- Translating design research and product requirements into wireframes, mockups and clickable prototypes using our HPE Design System Components
- Demonstrated product and/or visual design project experience
- General understanding of user-centric product design principles
- Solid communication and presentation skills
- Currently part of a Bachelor's or Master's degree program focused on Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, UX Research, Interaction Design, Fine Arts or equivalent
- Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and leadership
- An online portfolio or presentation demonstrating your interaction design process and design examples
- Desire to work in a collaborative culture; Collaborating with local and remote design/product management teams conducting frequent feedback sessions and iterations of your design work
- Ability to understand user problems, business, and technical requirements
- Curiosity — you have a desire to learn and take on new challenges. You are self-driven and love to dive into new problem spaces
- Team player — you like to collaborate with team members and encourage a “we before I” mindset
- Initial extensive onboarding to support you with adjusting into the role
- Ongoing learning and development throughout the duration of the program
- Be mentored by at least one senior member of the team and after two years in the program you can grow into a true professional with valuable relationships and international working experience
