Agronomy Technician

Planet Farms, founded in 2018 in Milan, is a leading vertical farming company. It’s currently present in the main distribution chains with its line of salads and pesto.

The company is in strong development in Italy and abroad and today the Planet Farmers work at the production plant - the brand new Cirimido Plant (Como, Italy) at the R&D Center on the outskirts of Milan, as well as at offices in Italy (Milan), Portugal (Coimbra), the United Kingdom (London) and the Netherlands (Eindhoven).

Key Responsibilities

Monitor plant growth and make sure that procedures and best practices are followed in order to ensure optimal plant development
Monitor environmental conditions and fertigation
Collect samples to send for analysis
Operate and maintain farm equipment, sensors, and data collection devices, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
Collaborate with Operations and Quality team to provide high quality crops that meet the required production volumes
Report Issues to the Supervisor

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical degree/Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related field
Good knowledge of plant biology, soil science, and crop health indicators
Good knowledge of MS Office
(Preferred) Experience with farm management software or data visualization platforms.
Hands on approach and good attitude for manual work
Good spoken and written English
