Description:

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, integrate test and deploy application. Translate requirements to a well described design consistent with architectural vision and product management expectations. Produce and deliver reliable and well tested software components in conformance with design specifications. Minimise rework. Contribute to and maintain design and user documentation. Provide support with root cause analysis of reported product issues post deployment.

  • Delivery of robust and reliable firmware/embedded software components

Skills and Experiences:

Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years’ experience in software and firmware development in a commercial environment
  • Experienced in Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Expert in ‘C’ coding, debugging, performance analysis and optimisation
  • Experienced with real time operating systems and development for micro controller platforms
  • Experience in bare-metal programming
  • Experience in Linux kernel programming
  • Knowledge of Arm architecture or similar
  • Experience with Linux platforms and networking
  • Knowledge of Microcontrollers/Microprocessors, and familiarity with the architecture, peripherals, and interfacing techniques
  • Knowledge of basic electronics hardware and its interfacing with software systems
  • Knowledge of wireless communication technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)
  • Knowledge of RS232, RS485, CAN, J1939 protocols and similar


Desirable

  • Familiar with Ethernet/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Zigbee/LoRa/UWB technologies
  • Ability to work closely with hardware components, interpret schematics, and debug issues that span both software and electronics
  • Experience in REST API design and implementation
  • Experience with the Scrum methodology
  • Experience in using Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of IoT technologies
  • Experienced in digital and software defined radios
  • Experience in Mining technology
