We are seeking an experienced UI Designer to join our UX/UI team. In this role you will play a key role in designing and refining the user interfaces for our data centric mining software. You will work closely with UX Designers, Business Analysts and Software Developers. You will play a key role in designing effective UI solutions that support data modelling, simulation workflows & insightful data visualizations. This is a 12 month fixed term contract position.

Key responsibilities include;

• Following the HCD framework, applying usability best practices to design UI workflows, layouts and components for complex data visualization, dashboards, simulation and modelling tools
• Collaboration with Business Analysts, SMEs and Developers to deliver projects
• Design and convert prototypes into production ready user interfaces in Figma
• Champion Figma Dev Mode and work closely with developers to improve the outcome & maintain a short design-build feedback loop
• Participate in user testing & feedback sessions to validate & improve delivered user experiences & user interfaces
• Conduct UX-UAT using defined processes & frameworks, document & prioritize findings

To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience.

• Preferably 3+ years’ experience in UI design, ideally within data-driven applications, SaaS products or industrial software
• Strong portfolio showcasing UI design work for complex interfaces, preferably related to technical applications, data visualizations, dashboards or simulation software
• Demonstrated experience in prototyping and hi-fidelity UI design in Figma including Figma Dev Mode
• Demonstrated experience working with design systems and component libraries
• Solid understanding of HCD, interaction design principles & usability best practices in context of data-heavy interfaces
• Experience working in mining, geospatial, engineering or scientific software domains would be highly desirable
• Experience with Frontend technologies, i.e. HTML/CSS, JS, React would be desirable but not essential
• A demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross functional teams (UX, Engineering, data science & product)
• A problem-solving mindset & the ability to work at pace and manage design challenges
