Senior Network Engineer

Location: Sydney, Australia

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and deliver mission-critical, low-latency, and resilient network solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, and hands-on involvement in enterprise and data center environments. You will play a key role in ensuring service excellence, meeting customer expectations, and driving the organization’s future network capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

· Implement and deliver end-to-end mission-critical, low-latency, and highly resilient network solutions.

· Collaborate with other network designers, architects, and SMEs to deliver integrated network solutions.

· Adapt and tailor network solutions to meet business unit requirements.

· Liaise with vendors and suppliers to source, evaluate, and implement appropriate hardware and software solutions.

· Determine the most suitable networking and security technologies to support business goals.

· Provide comprehensive documentation and contribute to organizational knowledge bases.

· Engage with management teams to identify and address company-wide networking requirements.

· Be accountable for network service delivery, ensuring performance meets or exceeds expectations.

· Support staging, testing, commissioning, and go-live activities within data center environments.

Required Experience & Qualifications

· 7+ years of hands-on experience in network implementation as a Senior Network Engineer.

· Specialized expertise in:

o Low-latency networks

o Enterprise and data center networks

o Security appliances (F5 Load Balancers, Firewalls, etc.)

· Proven success in mission-critical environments, delivering complex solutions with adherence to change management and project delivery methodologies.

· In-depth knowledge of Arista hardware platforms and software, including EOS, Metamux, and Metawatch (FPGA architecture).

· Strong expertise in routing and switching technologies, including BGP (eBGP/iBGP), OSPF, MP-BGP, Multicast, MLAG, VLANs, ACLs, QoS.

· Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting Layer 2–3 multicast networks.

· Familiarity with data center facilities and willingness to work on-site when required.

· Extensive exposure to network and security vendors including Arista, Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and F5.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice-to-Haves

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Telecommunications.

· Vendor certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CCAr, Arista, F5, Palo Alto, etc.

· Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).

· Knowledge of Arista’s CloudVision Telemetry Platform.

· Hands-on experience with Spirent/IXIA Test Center.
