The Special Order Team at voestalpine Böhler Welding Group (vaBW) serves strategic and important customers to ensure high-demanding and profitable global business. The team's main responsibility is to evaluate and approve special inquiries in collaboration with vaBW sales units, particularly focusing on industries such as Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Thermal Power, and nuclear applications. The Technical Expert oversees the execution of special orders, including comprehensive documentation and adherence to customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inquiry:
- Review Advanced Catalogues (AC) containing customer's technical requirements.
- Assess compliance with welding standards, product specifications, and evaluate feasibility.
- Propose technical alternatives if success rate or reliability is low.
- Finalize technical details and define testing parameters.
- Communicate agreements and cost details to Sales Unit via SOT Project Coordinator.
2. Orders:
- Ensure incoming orders align with previously approved inquiries.
- Create welding and testing plans using vaBW software.
- Coordinate customer approvals based on defined quality control plan.
- Monitor testing progress and coordinate 3rd party tests.
- Verify testing results against requirements and create necessary certificates.
3. Additional tasks for Nuclear Orders:
- Review documentation based on ASME quality handbook.
- Stamp and release labels for packaging units according to ASME standards.
- Evaluate and select nuclear-qualified materials.
- Create nuclear certificates following standard procedures.
- Handle deviations and corrective actions, if necessary.
4. General:
- Adapt internal procedures to changing standards.
- Support quality audits and training for welding procedures.
- Coordinate with external laboratories and manage costs.
- Develop and qualify new laboratories for new test methods.
- Coordinate feasibility studies for technical requirements.
- Monitor market trends for product development.
- Assist in technical discussions with customers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement programs.
Profile :
· Degree as Civil or Industrial Engineering;
· Good level in English, knowledges in Dutch are an asset;
· IWE certified an/or good knowledges in Welding are also an asset;
· Sense of responsibility and ability to work in team;
· Good communication skills;
· Eager to learn;
· Problem solver mindset;
· Stress resistant.
