Our Mission is to help those in need with our out-of-this-world superpowers. Avalanche Laboratory's purpose is to be a reliable and long-term business partner to our customers offering them customized software solutions tailored for their business processes. We work on a project basis (in the EU and beyond), to this day we have already implemented over 320 projects and currently, we are working on another 45 projects. We have a wide range of clients from the financial sector, fintech, government projects, manufacturing companies etc.

WHAT WE DO

We are set up to provide our customers with end-to-end support in the process of developing software solutions:

• Business need analysis, design of functional and non-functional requirements, system analysis, support for business transformation and IT/business consultancy;
• User interface and experience design and development for mobile and desktop applications;
• Front and back-end development in a wide range of technologies: Java, .NET, Ruby, GoLang, Oracle, Python.
• Complete Data Warehouse solutions from architecture, design and implementation using mainly Vertica, Oracle and Microsoft platforms.
• Avalanche has been the central counterparty for multiple major banking projects in the Scandinavia and Baltics, in areas such as lending automation, regulatory reporting and calculations, integrations, governance, risk and compliance, Basel II/III, Stress Testing, AML/KYC.

This role requires deep familiarity with the operations and delivery culture of a leading Baltic bank. Past work experience inside one of the major banks headquartered in the Baltics is not optional - it's essential, as it enables you to hit the ground running and bridge consulting knowledge with client-specific realities.

🌟 At least 8+ years of professional experience in IT project management (Information Technology project delivery leadership, stakeholder coordination, vendor and internal team management).

🌟 At least 3+ years of project management experience within a major Baltic bank (either in technology delivery, system integration, or major banking transformations).

🌟 A strong track record in managing enterprise-scale projects in banking - from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.

🌟 Solid command of project management methodologies (such as PRINCE2 - Projects in Controlled Environments version 2, PMBOK - Project Management Body of Knowledge, or Agile frameworks including Scrum and SAFe - Scaled Agile Framework).

🌟 Experience working across cross-functional business and IT stakeholders, translating business goals into structured project plans.

🌟 Strong risk, budget, and vendor management skills with clear reporting and escalation practices.

🌟 Excellent communication and consulting skills, able to operate confidently with senior stakeholders in a regulated banking environment.

BONUS SKILLS...

While not mandatory, the following skills will make you stand out:

💎 Experience in transaction systems engineering or financial transaction process optimization.

💎 Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the Baltic banking sector (AML - Anti Money Laundering, PSD2 - Payment Services Directive 2, GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation).

💎 Strong exposure to integration projects, such as connecting core banking systems with payment gateways, card services, or third-party providers.

💎 Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 Practitioner, or Agile Coach credentials.

💎 Past consulting experience where you operated as a trusted advisor rather than only a delivery manager.
