The Senior Product Manager will lead the strategy, development, and market success of a Ground Segment as a Service (GSaaS) offering. This role requires shaping the product vision, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring seamless integration of satellite operations with ground infrastructure and service delivery.


The position involves balancing customer mission requirements, partner capabilities, and internal operational goals to maximize product value and adoption. Success in this role will come from creativity, technical credibility, and the ability to rally both internal and external stakeholders behind a clear vision.


Key Responsibilities

  • Market evaluation: Assess customer mission profiles, analyze industry trends, and conduct competitive benchmarking in the GSaaS market to define product-market fit.
  • Technical understanding: Build strong knowledge of satellite communications (e.g., TTC, downlink services), cloud-based service delivery, APIs, and monitoring frameworks. Identify opportunities to expand capabilities and improve efficiencies.
  • Product vision & roadmap: Define and maintain the roadmap across service areas such as pass scheduling, telemetry and command, downlink, and monitoring. Align with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to deliver impactful releases.
  • Market leadership: Represent the product in industry forums, conferences, and customer discussions; build partnerships with ground segment providers.
  • Engineering & operations collaboration: Work closely with technical teams to prioritize features, resolve anomalies, and ensure service reliability.
  • Stakeholder management: Engage sales, marketing, and leadership to drive enthusiasm and alignment around the product strategy.
  • Investment planning: Build business cases for product expansions (e.g., additional ground stations, enhanced monitoring tools, new frequency bands) and track measurable outcomes.


Required Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, aerospace, or business administration.
  • 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in satellite communications, GSaaS, or mission-critical cloud services.
  • Proven record of driving customer adoption and revenue growth.
  • Ability to translate strategic business goals into actionable product initiatives.
  • Comfortable working with APIs, ground station networks, satellite operations, and secure service delivery models.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for technical and commercial audiences.


Desired Attributes

  • 8+ years of experience in space, satellite services, or cloud-based mission services.
  • Experience managing products with multimillion-dollar revenue impact.
  • Familiarity with GSaaS competitors, industry standards, and ground station partnerships.
  • Background in API-based service offerings and data-driven product development.
