We are now searching for Head of Finland Operations to lead, direct, and control the operation of Fabrics production sites in Finland to achieve the short and medium-term financial and operating objectives set by the corporate business plan.
Head of Finland Operations will leads two fabric factories located in Tampere and Juankoski, with overall responsibility for approximately 450 employees across both production sites, and will report direct to Vice President, Fabrics. Position is located at Valmet’s office in Yrittäjänkatu, Tampere.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Establishing operating budgets within specified levels, monitor the cost and effectiveness of manufacturing activities to optimize resources, prioritize spending, and achieve volume, quality, and manufacturing standards.
- Set, and monitor the performance of the site against standards and targets in areas such as manufacturing efficiency, cost control in both production and products, reliability and availability, legal compliance, capital spend and human resource management.
- Develop and implement a variety of operating policies and procedures (in conjunction with corporate subject matter experts) to ensure that the site meets it current and future production targets and quality standards.
- Allocate labor and capital resources to maximize productivity and manage costs.
- Executing evaluations of possible investments in technology, capital, equipment, systems, or other assets that will enhance the site’s production capabilities.
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of functional and operational managers or other professionals to ensure that the site meets its established targets and standards.
- Be active member of Global Fabrics Operations leadership team.
- Master’s degree preferably in engineering.
- 7-10 years work experience in global environment.
- Proficiency in English and Finish language. Other languages are an asset.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of Lean Management.
- Knowledge of HSE legislation and experience working in production environment.
- Ability to lead change, and see the big picture with attention to details.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making capability.
- Proactive and flexible team leadership and people management skills.
- High level of commitment and proactive approach.
- Ability to travel.
