Job Description
As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering intuitive, scalable, and high-performing user interfaces for AI-powered applications. Using modern web technologies such as React, Next.js, and TypeScript, you will transform complex AI/ML insights into engaging, accessible, and user-friendly experiences. Your work will be central to enabling enterprises and customers to seamlessly interact with advanced AI capabilities and derive tangible business value.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces that surface AI/ML insights to end users in intuitive ways.
- Collaborate with backend, AI, and data engineering teams to integrate APIs, AI services, and data pipelines into the frontend experience.
- Drive UI/UX strategy, from wireframing and prototyping to production-ready applications, ensuring seamless workflows and a strong focus on usability.
- Optimise frontend performance, including rendering efficiency, caching strategies, and responsive design across devices and browsers.
- Champion design systems and reusable component libraries to ensure scalability, consistency, and maintainability across applications.
- Mentor and guide frontend engineers, promoting best practices in React, Next.js, TypeScript, testing, and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and AI specialists to translate business requirements into user-centric technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with security, accessibility, and governance standards across all UI components.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of professional experience in frontend/UI development, with at least 3+ years leading teams or large-scale projects.
- Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and experience with frontend state management.
- Familiarity with backend integrations.
- Experience with design systems, UI libraries, and responsive design frameworks.
- Proficiency with frontend performance tuning and accessibility best practices.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployment.
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with AI engineers, data scientists, and product stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills and a passion for creating seamless, human-centred digital experiences.
- Prior experience building applications powered by AI/ML systems is a strong plus.
