We are looking for a Dutch-speaking Network Specialist for our client across the Public sector who is undergoing a transformation programme.


Key responsibilities :


  • Designing, configuring and managing IP-based network infrastructures within classified and unclassified domains.
  • Supporting mission-critical communications and command networks (e.g. C4ISR systems).
  • Implementing network security measures in accordance with customer regulations and standards.
  • Performing network diagnostics and incident analysis during exercises.
  • Ensuring redundancy, availability and security of networks in tactical and fixed environments.
  • Documenting configurations, network designs and security measures.


Activities

  • Implements the design and maintenance of the network architecture and supports the transition to the network design.
  • Contributes to the improvement of the network architecture for the operational domain
  • Contributes to the operational network architecture


Knowledge, insight and skills :


  • Thorough knowledge of IP networks, subnetting, routing & switching (IPv4/IPv6).
  • Experience with Cisco or similar network equipment.
  • Familiarity with protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, GRE, IPsec, SNMP, VLANs.
  • Knowledge of network security (e.g. firewalls, crypto, NAC, IDS/IPS).
  • Experience with classified networks and crypto environments is an advantage.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or similar training courses are a strong advantage.
  • Experience in establishing connections between network developments.
  • Experience with research methods and techniques.
  • Experience in drawing up design documents.
  • Experience in managing and coaching employees.


Thorough knowledge of the Dutch and English languages (spoken and written).

- Broad or specialised theoretical knowledge of the field or subject area;

- Ability to advise on matters within the field;

- Ability to draft advice, memos, reports, regulations, guidelines, etc.;

- Skill in creating and improving products and services in terms of content and process;

- Skill in performing analyses, resolving bottlenecks and making proposals for improvement



Contacts

  • With lead architects on the one hand, and project managers and network engineers on the other, regarding the implementation of the work packages to determine which tasks need to be defined in the various work packages;
  • With the Business Operations Architects on operational system concepts to improve the networks in the operational domain in order to obtain support for the operational, process and information analyses;
  • With the Project Managers on drawing up the necessary requirements to clarify the functional needs;
  • With end users on the necessary user requirements to achieve effective information acquisition;
  • With the knowledge centres on the knowledge they possess in order to contribute to operational analyses and the system concepts to be developed for the various military functional areas.


Required experience:

  • (4-6 years) with architectural approaches and methods
  • (4-6 years) with the application of ICT within multidisciplinary projects
  • (4-6 years) in participating in multidisciplinary projects
  • (4-6 years) in the operational domain is an advantage.
