Entry-level / Junior Data Engineer (Portugal-based)

We are looking for an Associate Data Engineer to join our Client's team on a remote working model from Portugal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy data collectors in Adverity to gather data from media, agency systems, and other sources.
• Build and monitor data hygiene checks and pipeline monitors, addressing or escalating issues when necessary.
• Perform QA on collected data against source data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Support the development and maintenance of naming convention adherence and data completeness procedures.
• Develop and expand on existing data transformations in SQL via DBT on Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Translate user requirements into technical specifications with guidance from senior team members.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform to ensure data processes follow best practices.
• Monitor automated jobs and troubleshoot data issues as they arise.
• Assist other team members with data transformation and visualization in BI tools such as Google Data Studio.
• Provide hands-on support to reporting solution users, triaging and resolving data-related issues.
• Attend stakeholder meetings, presenting progress updates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party data providers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
• Strong eagerness to learn and grow as a data engineer.
• Professional experience with SQL, preferably deployed via DBT.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to approach and resolve complex challenges.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective spoken and written communication skills.
• Passion for the digital marketing ecosystem and an understanding of data’s role within it.
• Collaborative approach, thriving in a team environment.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working with data and technology.
• Familiarity with digital marketing platforms and the data they generate (Google Marketing Platform, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
• Understanding of data tracking and exchange in digital advertising (e.g., ad servers, third-party vendors).
• Experience using BI tools, ideally Microsoft Power BI.
• Work experience in a media agency, publisher, ad tech, or client marketing organization.
