We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our infrastructure security team. This role focuses on securing and managing our Private Cloud Platform, overseeing firewall operations, and driving DevOps automation. You will work with technologies such as Fortinet, Equinix, and other enterprise-grade firewalls to ensure robust, scalable, and compliant security across our cloud environments.

This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in firewall technologies, scripting, and cloud-native security practices, along with a solid understanding of IT service management processes.

Your Role – meaningful & rewarding

• Manage and execute firewall change requests across multiple platforms.
• Perform regular and advanced firewall maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Collaborate with external vendors to coordinate deployments, resolve issues, and align on security standards.
• Support and enhance the Private Cloud Platform with secure configurations and monitoring.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline firewall and cloud operations.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz).
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of firewall policies, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of secure network architectures and DevOps pipelines.
• Work in alignment with ITIL and ITSM processes, including Change Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management.

Your Profile – authentic & open-minded

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT security, preferably in enterprise or multinational environments.
• • Strong experience with Fortinet (FortiGate) and Equinix, with additional exposure to Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewalls.
• Strong understanding of private cloud platforms and their security requirements.
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and cloud-native security solutions.
• Familiarity with hybrid and multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, OpenStack).
• Understanding of ITIL/ITSM frameworks and workflows.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CISSP, Fortinet NSE, AWS/Azure Security, or coding-related certifications (e.g., Python, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code).
• Knowledge of European data protection and security regulations (e.g., GDPR).
• German language skills are not required, but preferred.
