About us:

Sonaca Romaia is an aerospace manufacturer established in 2015 near Turda, part of Sonaca Group (Belgium) and produces in Romania three ranges of products:

• Assembly of slats for Airbus A320 & A220 aircrafts (movable part in front of the wing);
• Production of composite parts for the wings of Embraer Legacy 500 and E2-190 Aircrafts;
• Assembly and production of composite parts for Ariane 6 rocket.

Sonaca Romania is currently opening the second factory in Turda (Cluj), with ambitious plans to grow in the future to almost double the current size.

In this context, the technical department is looking for an experienced colleague to join the team, in the role of an IT System Engineer.

Responsabilities and activities:

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization platforms.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve potential issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications and services.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects such as datacentre migrations, system upgrades, and cybersecurity enhancements.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and act as a technical reference point.
• Communicate effectively with internal clients, vendors, and external/or partners.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
• Support compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements.

Your Profile:

• Bachelor degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ICT Systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix), Hybrid Microsoft environment and cloud platforms.
• Experience with network protocols, firewalls, VPNs (CISCO and Palo Alto), and storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
• Familiarity with ITSM tools and practices (e.g., JIRA).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
• High emotional intelligence, empathy, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
