At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a CI/CD Engineer to strengthen our team in Gothenburg.

The role

In this role you will be responsible for the oversight and continuous improvement of the Continuous Integration (CI) environment, ensuring that software builds and integrations are executed reliably and efficiently. This role requires close coordination with cross-functional teams to maintain CI gate stability, manage integration branches, and facilitate timely communication of CI-related updates and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the CI gate is functioning optimally, enabling uninterrupted software build and integration processes.
  • Continuously monitor CI pipelines to detect and resolve issues proactively. Escalate critical faults in a timely manner to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily synchronization meetings with the CI Nurse team to review master branch status, fault reports, and planned changes.
  • Manage integration branches, including the testing and merging of breaking changes in alignment with the software development plan. Ensure consistency and coordination across development teams.
  • Assess and prioritize merge requests based on technical impact, readiness, and stakeholder input. Facilitate the integration of high-priority updates with minimal disruption.
  • Provide regular updates on CI gate health, branch status, and blockers. Report progress toward software milestones to Software Product Managers (SPMs) and Integration Project Managers (IPMs).
  • Identify and remove obstacles affecting CI flow. Collaborate with development, testing, and release teams to maintain a stable integration environment.
  • Ensure that all technical components of the CI infrastructure are functioning as intended. Review merge candidates for compliance with system requirements.
  • Investigate and respond to CI-related faults. For issues within the scope of responsibility, implement corrective actions and report findings to relevant teams.
  • Monitor ongoing test executions and ensure timely intervention when anomalies or failures are detected.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in CI/CD operations, DevOps, or software integration roles.
  • Proficiency with CI tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and fault-tracing capabilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced development environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred.

Meritorious

  • Experience in large-scale software development environments.
  • Exposure to automotive software or embedded systems is advantageous.
