As a JVM Software Engineer, you’ll help us develop secure and user-friendly identity and privacy solutions – all while ensuring a smooth experience for users and developers alike.

We work in a hybrid way and would like to catch up with you at our vibrant and colourful office in Kraków 2 days per week. This allows for collaboration and meaningful connections with the team. If you’re not the working-from-home kind of person, you are of course welcome in our office every day!

About The Team/Project

We’re a Cross-functional, International Team With
- 2 Product Managers
- 1 UX Designer
- 1 Data Analyst
- 9 Engineers (Poland & Sweden)
- Strong team autonomy with decision-making power over tools, technologies, and future directions

- “You build it, you run it” approach with ownership of our infrastructure

- Backend: Kotlin, Scala, Java, PHP, Kafka
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, OpenSearch
- Infrastructure & CI/CD: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions
- Monitoring & Ops: Grafana, Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, PagerDuty
As a JVM Software Engineer, you’ll help us develop secure and user-friendly identity and privacy solutions – all while ensuring a smooth experience for users and developers alike.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build new features in Schibsted Account and Consent Management Platform
- Maintain and evolve infrastructure on AWS (with support from a dedicated DevOps team)
- Influence architectural decisions with scalability and maintainability in mind
- Take responsibility for the quality and reliability of the solutions you build
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX, and other stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
- Proficiency in JVM languages (Kotlin or Java)
- Experience designing and building services in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience with distributed systems
- Familiarity with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, authentication standards (OAuth/OpenID)
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous queues (SNS, SQS, Kafka)
