The Architecture and Engineering Section is now looking to strengthen our engineering capabilities with two Senior Backend Engineers with AWS experience to help us build secure, high-performing backend services that support DNB’s digital transformation and customer-facing applications. We’re looking for someone with Senior-level or Staff engineering experience, strong technical depth, and a strategic mindset - ready to lead complex initiatives across teams and domains.

Your mission as a Senior AWS Backend Engineer and what kind of enigneer are we looking for?

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and operating mission-critical backend systems on AWS. Working closely with your team and across domains, you’ll help shape architectural decisions, solve complex challenges, and ensure scalable, reliable solutions. You’ll contribute to shared standards, mentor others, and foster a collaborative engineering culture.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a team setting - someone who communicates clearly, shares knowledge openly, and brings energy and ideas to technical discussions. You’re proactive, adaptable, and eager to help move projects forward together. From architecture to deployment, you’ll be part of a team that builds with purpose and learns continuously. To succeed in this role, you need to be comfortable in a high paced environment, flexible and able to adapt to changes and shifting priorities.

Background And Technical Skills

We are looking for engineers with:

• A strategic mindset with strong technical expertise in server-side development and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, ECS, CloudFormation, CDK, API Gateway, load balancers, etc.
• Solid understanding of AWS networking (VPC, subnets, security groups, ACL)
• Proficiency in backend languages: Kotlin, Go. Python is a bonus
• Familiarity with MSK and EKS is beneficial.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with GitHub, a DevOps mindset, and working with security are beneficial
• Familiarity with monitoring
• Higher technical education or equivalent professional experience
• Fluent in English (oral and written); Norwegian is a plus
