The role
To lead the organisation’s IT, systems and data strategy, ensuring robust infrastructure, secure operations, and alignment with business goals. This role blends technical leadership, strategic planning, and people management to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Skills
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in IT leadership role.
- Qualifications held/understanding of ITIL, Project Management, ISO security
- Proven track record in infrastructure management and systems integration
- Strong understanding of data architecture, governance, and analytics
- Strong experience with cybersecurity, compliance, and data protection
- Skilled in vendor management and budget oversight.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate tech for non-tech audiences.
- Collaborative leadership style and stakeholder engagement skills
- Collaborative and team oriented

- Experience in change management and digital transformation.

Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the digital solutions and data strategy roadmap aligned with organisational objectives, by introducing a digital maturity model to track progress with the delivery of our 5 year strategy and annual business plan.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives and platform upgrades.
- Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and innovation opportunities (AI, Automation, RPA, assistive technology, and nurse call systems)
- Oversee system contracts, SLA management and supplier relationships through regular liaison and review meetings.
- Working alongside Dorset Council to support system availability and responsiveness of ICT systems and solutions.
- Oversight and day to day management (including equipment replacement programme) of Care Dorset owned assets such as iPads, iPhones and Nourish handsets.
- Asset register maintenance, including safe disposal of ICT kit, write-offs and certification.
- Work with Health and Safety Manager on DSE risk management.
- Work with the Head of Governance to ensure adherence with legislation in terms of data security and protection.
- Lead for digital/cybersecurity and inform our strategic risks with key controls and actions.
- Lead for system audits and spot checks
- Drive integration and optimisation of systems.
- Support projects, implementation and work collaboratively with IG/DPO
- Maintain a centralised data repository and asset register.
- Design, develop and deliver the ICT competency and learning framework for colleagues across Care Dorset
- Develop and manage IT budgets and procurement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Report on IT KPI’s, risks, and project progress to executive stakeholders
