Web Developer (Temporary, Part Time)

We are seeking a skilled Web Developer to create high-quality, responsive, and performance-optimized web experiences. In this role, you will design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins, translating design mockups into functional, secure, and SEO-friendly websites. You will work across multiple technologies including PHP, HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL, collaborating closely with designers and other developers to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, contribute to the evolution of web practices, and stay current with emerging trends in web development. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Accountabilities:

• Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch to meet project requirements
• Convert design mockups into responsive, cross-browser compatible websites
• Optimize website performance, implement SEO best practices, and maintain security standards
• Troubleshoot and debug issues with existing sites, ensuring high-quality user experiences
• Maintain and update WordPress core, themes, and plugins to ensure scalability and security
• Collaborate with design and development teams to implement innovative web solutions
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in web development
  
  
  

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in WordPress development
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL
• Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development
• Knowledge of custom post types, taxonomies, WordPress REST API, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
• Familiarity with Git version control, responsive design principles, cross-browser compatibility, SEO, and web security
• Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Preferred: experience with Sass/LESS, modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js), build tools (Gulp, Webpack), WordPress Multisite, open-source contributions, PERL/ModPERL experience, and a portfolio demonstrating custom WordPress projects
