Who We’re Looking For (entry-level By Design)

- Assist with Linux server care: SSH in, check logs, apply updates under guidance, and follow runbooks.
- Monitor & triage alerts: watch uptime dashboards, do basic troubleshooting, and escalate quickly.
- Help with deployments: run deployment checklists for WordPress and web apps; verify rollouts/rollbacks.
- Handle hosting hygiene: renew SSLs, make DNS changes, manage backups/restore tests.
- Support CI/CD: run/build jobs (e.g., Git/GitHub Actions), keep pipelines green, document steps.
- cPanel/WHM administration: create/manage accounts, handle basic migrations, and routine WHM tasks.
- Document everything: create/maintain simple runbooks and checklists so work becomes repeatable.
- Pitch in on maintenance windows (with notice): occasional after-hours for patches or cutovers.
Must-have Qualifications (kept Intentionally Lean)
- This role is early-career by design; internships, labs, and class projects count.
- Recent graduate (or equivalent hands-on experience) with strong curiosity and follow-through.
- Basic Linux command line comfort (cd/ls/grep, editing with nano/vim, reading logs).
- Git basics (clone, commit, push, branch).
- Clear written communication and willingness to ask questions early.
- Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes (class projects/labs count).
- Familiarity with WordPress hosting, cPanel/WHM, Nginx/Apache, MySQL basics, or DNS/Cloudflare.
- Simple scripting in Bash or Python.
- Interest in monitoring/metrics (Grafana/Prometheus/UptimeRobot).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a U.S. House and Senate federal background check with the United States Capitol Police (USCP).
- Base salary (full-time): $30,000–$40,000 depending on skills, fit, and where we assess you on our entry-level ramp (i.e., where we think you are).
- Part-time option available: rate negotiated based on schedule and responsibilities; this is not the $30–$40k full‐time salary range.
- Hybrid option within ~60 miles of Canfield, OH — open for discussion; expect some in-office days each week.
- Reviews at skill milestones with a clear path to DevOps Technician → DevOps Engineer.
- Training & certifications: we’ll prepare you with study plans, labs, and mentorship; we’ll fund entry-level certs (e.g., Linux Essentials, AWS Cloud Practitioner) after ramp.
- 30 days: Get access set up, learn our stack, shadow maintenance, complete Linux & Git fundamentals checklist.
- 60 days: Own a small set of services/runbooks; handle low-risk updates and first-line triage.
- 90 days: Run routine deployments end-to-end with supervision; propose a small reliability improvement (backup test, dashboard, or automation).
