We are currently working with the CTO at a game-changing SaaS company on a key hire – Staff Engineer

A brand new role, created as the company embarks on its expansion phase, you’ll act as the engineering lead across 4 engineering teams who are currently responsible for developing cutting-edge features to the core B2C2B SaaS Product.

Leading from the front, you'll provide technical expertise to further develop the platform’s capabilities, architect solution designs, mentor junior members of the team and help contribute towards the technical direction of our platform.

Day-to-day you'll:

• Produce high-quality maintainable code, test it, collaboratively review it and ship it.
• Collaborate extensively with product management, design, and engineers to develop product features.
• Identify areas to improve and scale our architecture and application design.
• Develop tools and utilities to diagnose and fix problems.
• Ensure proper technical design and documentation.
• Work efficiently in a constantly changing and growing environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are desired.
• Be an active member of the engineering and wider tech community within the business.

What do you need to be successful?

We are looking for a brilliant Staff Engineer who has a passion for building scaleable products and want to join an energetic and passionate team on a mission to change the Allied Healthcare market. There’s much to do, and you’ll be responsible for making some real cool stuff happen.

You'll have a track record leading engineering within SaaS start ups / scale ups and in terms of technical knowledge, we’re looking for experience in the majority of but not necessarily all, the following:

• A demonstrable history of mentoring and leading software engineers to develop complex back-end systems in for high web traffic, high speed or platforms with sophisticated data structures.
• Development expertise in Java, Kotlin & Typescript preferred
• A background working with AWS Cloud and associated service tools (S3, DynamoDB, EC2, ECS).
• A history leading teams of junior engineers across the SDLC.
• Hands-on experience of TDD, building CI/CD pipelines and implementing best engineering practices.
• Previous experience working within Agile environments as well as small, cross-functional software development team(s).
