The Mission

Transform our proven PHP platform's deployment and testing infrastructure in 90 days. We serve law enforcement nationwide with a register of CCTV camera locations with some streaming/remote access integrations. The product works; we just need modern DevOps yesterday. Pre-revenue startup with paying pilots starting Q1 2026. ISO 27001 assessment of our platform is about to commence.

Your 90-Day Sprint

  • Week 1-2: Git migration from FTP, fine-tune existing dev/staging environments
  • Week 3-4: CI/CD pipeline live, automated deployments working
  • Week 5-8: Testing framework + critical path test coverage
  • Week 9-12: Compliance documentation, monitoring, handover

This isn't an "ease into it" role. We need someone who can ship from day one.

Technical Reality

  • Pure PHP (no framework) - 50k+ lines, working well
  • AWS Lightsail LAMP + S3
  • Twilio, WhatsApp Business, and Postmark integrations
  • Active law enforcement users, but not mission-critical yet (still a mature pilot)

You Bring

  • Proven track record of FAST modernisation projects
  • "Good enough" mindset - we need working, not perfect
  • Git/CI/CD you could set up blindfolded
  • PHP expertise to understand our codebase quickly
  • AI tools experience (Claude/Copilot) to move faster

Non-Negotiables

  • Australian citizen (government clients)
  • Available to start within 2 weeks
  • Full-time commitment for 90 days
  • Melbourne-Canberra-Sydney based or willing to travel for key meetings

The Deal

  • $800/day for 90 days ($48,000 total)
  • If we hit our sprint goals: permanent offer at $120-140k + equity
  • If we absolutely crush it: equity discussion starts immediately

How We'll Know You're Right

Answer these without hesitation:

  1. "How would you ship code to production on day 3?"
  2. "What's the minimum viable CI/CD for a government client?"
  3. "How do you add testing without slowing down feature delivery?"

Not Looking For

  • Architecture astronauts
  • "Best practice" evangelists
  • People who need committees to make decisions
  • Anyone suggesting a Laravel rewrite
