Title: Business Analyst

Location: Zug, Switzerland (Hybrid)


The Opportunity

Madrigal is embarking on its transformation into a global biopharmaceutical leader, with a mission to bring Rezdiffra to patients suffering from metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) worldwide. As part of this evolution, the company is establishing an international infrastructure to support the commercialization and launch of its assets beyond the United States. The international headquarters in Zug will serve as a strategic hub, supporting senior leadership and operational execution across Europe and other global markets.


Position Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst, reporting to the Director FP&A International, will partner with stakeholders across Commercial, Medical, and G&A to ensure transparency, accuracy, and compliance in operating expenses. This role will support PO review, coding, and accruals, safeguard the integrity of monthly close, and drive accountability across functions. It will also prepare and deliver frequent, high-quality reporting with actionable insights to enable timely, informed decisions across International Headquarters, countries, and affiliates.


Forecasting, Budgeting & Strategic Planning

  • Collect and consolidate information from International Headquarters Leaders, Country GMs and affiliates to support Forecast, Budget, and the 3-Year Operating Plan.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency of assumptions across functions and geographies.
  • Support the consolidation and validation of submissions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate standards.

Financial Operations & Control

  • Review purchase orders for compliance with internal policies, budget and appropriate coding.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of bookings, providing corrections where required.
  • Monitor and reconcile actuals versus forecast to identify discrepancies.

Accruals & Phasing

  • Partner with finance and business stakeholders to validate accruals, ensuring proper timing and alignment with financial phasing.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities to ensure accuracy of accruals and reported figures.

Reporting & Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with Commercial, Medical, and G&A Leaders to provide transparency on spendings and budget with solid reporting and in-dept business understanding.
  • Act as a trusted partner to stakeholders, providing insights and guidance to drive accountability and informed decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with Global, International HQ and Country to strengthen collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Process Improvement

  • Support initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting, PO management, and planning cycles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in systems, tools, and processes for financial planning and analysis, as such as PowerBi and other reporting tools.


Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in FP&A, Accounting, or Business Analysis.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, accruals, and expense management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills, PowerQuery and PowerBI a must.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across functions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
