Overview:We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support core network and server operations across our Newcastle site. The role involves hands-on technical work with firewalls, WiFi, servers, and monitoring systems, as well as vendor and certificate management. Key Responsibilities:Maintain and optimise Palo Alto firewalls, including rule base cleanup.Manage and deploy Aruba Central WiFi, including up to 10 new AP installations.Create and reconfigure VMware servers and adjust hardware resources.Perform network port tracing, fibre patching, and switch CLI configuration, including migrations to Aruba Central.Configure and maintain PRTG monitoring and provide on-call support for outages.Oversee SSL certificate renewals and lifecycle management.Liaise with vendors for hardware and cabling failures.Conduct routine infrastructure checks, including PRTG triage of UPS/server/network alerts.Manage infrastructure email inbox, including licence renewals and updates. Skills & Experience:Strong background in network engineering with exposure to enterprise systems.Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba Central, VMware, and PRTG.Solid understanding of SSL, certificates, and vendor coordination.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues efficiently. Things to know: This will be a minimum 8 hour contract per weekIt will involve some site visits & remote work
