Job Description:

• Strong experience of Java programming, software architecture, and design patterns, as well as a proven track record of successfully leading technical teams in a financial services environment.
• A strong background in retail financial services advisory (preferably 10+ years of change management / project experience) and a proven ability to quickly understand the business strategy and objectives
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead or similar role in software development, specifically using Java.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Lead the design and development of Java-based applications in the financial services sector.
• Oversee technical project delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and define technical specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Implement best practices for software development, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Resource will be responsible for overseeing the development of innovative applications that adhere to industry regulations while delivering exceptional performance and security.
• Expertise will guide project teams in implementing best practices, optimizing processes, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions. In addition to your technical skills, effective communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities will be essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
• Monitor application performance and security, implementing necessary enhancements and optimizations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
• Familiarity with financial services regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• An IT background with a solid grounding in technology
• Experience of working in both Agile & waterfall SDLCs
• Communication, group dynamics, collaboration and continuous improvement are core – being best practice driven
