Product Manager Role
Our product managers set the vision and the direction to ensure teams deliver the right products in the right markets at the right time.
Responsibilities include:
- Push the boundaries of the technology landscape to identify and deliver products into new and existing market opportunities
- Discuss strategy, plan product development, drive engagement, and promote the open source way
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle from conception to delivery
- Blend technical expertise, strategic thinking, analytics, project management skills and effective communication to ensure products meet both user needs and business objectives
Product Domains
We have open product manager roles across a wide range of product domains, including:
- Ubuntu Platform – Desktop, Server, Windows (WSL), Multipass, Gaming, Enterprise, Hardware Enablement
- Ubuntu Pro Services – Ubuntu Pro, Compliance, Standards, Security Engineering, Managed Services (cloud & on-prem)
- AI/ML & MLOps – Open source AI/ML solutions, AIOps automation, model lifecycle management, Kubeflow, MLFlow, KServe, AI infrastructure on cloud and edge
- IoT – Ubuntu on embedded devices/edge servers, device management, robotics
- Cloud – Ubuntu in public and private clouds, automation frameworks, Kubernetes, MAAS, LXD
- Telco – Core Network, RAN/vRAN, SoNIC, DENT, SmartNICs
- Finance – Trading platforms, blockchain technologies, regulatory compliance, AI-driven analytics
- Automotive – Autonomous driving, infotainment, connected vehicles, compliance (ISO 26262, ISO 21434)
- Application Management – Observability, IAM, App Stores, Grafana, GitOps, Juju Charms

Location
- These roles are home based in the EMEA time zone
- You will be expected to be located in this region
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the product development lifecycle, reviewing priorities and goals
- Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales
- Address challenges, align on priorities, enable informed decisions, and keep execution on track
- Conduct market research, analyse trends, gather customer feedback
- Communicate product vision, status updates, and key decisions
- Conduct usability testing, analyse user feedback, iterate on product improvements
- Develop go-to-market strategies with marketing, sales, and support teams
- Contribute to sales success by reviewing feedback and attending customer meetings
- Oversee product line work, ensuring consistency in strategy and execution
- Facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts across teams and departments
What We Are Looking For
- Exceptional academic results at high school and university
- Understanding of Linux and the wider open source community
- Knowledge of computer architecture, app development, datacenters, cloud, or devices
- Passion for writing about technologies and the tech landscape
- Strong work ethic, curiosity, continuous learning, and ownership
- Problem solving and innovation mindset
- Outstanding English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to manage multiple projects while focusing on priorities
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year (up to 2 weeks per trip)
