This role is based in Basel, however, thanks to our status as an international organization, we can hire globally and welcome applications from candidates of all nationalities and located anywhere in the world. Relocation support is available for the successful candidate and their dependent family members.

Purpose Of The Job
The Digital Design and Content Specialist plays an essential role in shaping and enhancing the BIS’s digital presence by creating engaging and visually compelling content for the Bank’s digital channels. The role focuses on digital design, user experience (UX), and multimedia content creation, while ensuring the BIS corporate identity is consistently applied across all channels. Additionally, the role involves advising internal teams on design-related matters, supporting collaboration with external agencies, and ensuring content from external partners aligns with the corporate identity and meets high-quality standards.
By Joining The Communications Team, You Will
- Play a key role in enhancing the BIS’s digital identity, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and innovation across all platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver impactful digital content and design solutions.
- Work in an international environment on high-profile projects.
- Digital Design and User Experience: Create visually engaging digital assets, including infographics, multimedia content, and other visuals to present content in accessible formats across BIS platforms including all BIS social media channels. Design user-centred experiences on BIS digital channels, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and alignment with organisational goals.
- Corporate identity advisory, development and management: Oversee the BIS CI, ensuring application across all digital and physical touchpoints. Lead the evolution of the BIS CI, focusing on digital-first strategies and modern design trends. Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on brand standards.
- Self-Service Support and Coordination of External Materials: Develop and maintain self-service templates to enable independent production of materials while ensuring alignment with BIS corporate identity. Coordinate with design agencies to manage the creation of external materials, ensuring all outputs adhere to BIS brand guidelines.
- Collaboration and Advisory Role: Work closely with colleagues across departments to ensure digital and corporate content and publication efforts align with organisational needs. Provide advice on integrating digital design and storytelling into communication strategies.
- Innovation and Digital Strategy: Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in digital design, UX, and multimedia content creation.
- Degree in digital design, multimedia communications, or a related field.
- Experienced in digital design, multimedia content creation, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a corporate setting, preferably within the financial industry or an international organisation, with expertise in managing external vendors and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in digital design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Canva, or similar platforms). Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices. Experience in creating infographics and multimedia content using tools like Flourish or similar platforms.
- Experience working with design agencies. Ability to provide clear and concise creative briefs to external vendors.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into visually engaging and user-friendly digital content. Strong storytelling skills with a focus on data visualisation and interactive design.
- In-depth understanding of digital branding and its application across platforms. Excellent English communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and external vendors. Knowledge of another language is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Strong attention to detail and ability to work flexibly under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of web development (e.g., HTML, CSS) is an advantage. Photography and image editing skills are a plus.
