About the Role:
We are seeking a highly analytical and ambitious Analyst to join our growing Optimization team, supporting Global Distillates trading and origination. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis, deal structuring, and portfolio modelling, who aspires to transition into a trader-originator role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support trading, origination, and business development teams with robust pricing models, fundamental analysis, and strategic insights.
- Develop and maintain shipping and logistics models that underpin physical trading operations.
- Collaborate closely with traders to analyse market data, monitor developments, and identify trading opportunities.
- Leverage data-driven insights to assist in optimizing trading strategies.
- Build and enhance knowledge systems that support decision-making across the trading desk.
- Identify and develop new markets to increase portfolio optionality, capability, and revenue streams.
Candidate Profile:
- 2-7 years of relevant experience in quantitative analytics, trading support, or physical/financial commodities (Distillates ).
- Strong academic background in quantitative fields such as statistics, econometrics, financial engineering, or applied mathematics.
- Hands-on experience with commodities infrastructure models—including shipping, storage, pipeline, upstream, or supply chain analytics.
- Proficient in Python, R, VBA, or similar tools for data modelling and analysis.
- Solid understanding of energy markets and trading dynamics; Distillates exposure is a strong plus.
- Fluent in English
- Proactive, intellectually curious, and collaborative—with a clear desire to transition into a front-office trading/origination career
