About The Game

Hopetown is a narrative-first RPG inspired by Disco Elysium, set in a decaying town haunted by both ghosts and memories. You play a washed-up ghost hunter unravelling disappearances, a crumbling world, and your own haunted past.

Blending surrealism, dialogue-driven gameplay, and psychological exploration, Hopetown is being built by key talent from some of the most celebrated narrative games of the past decade — including Martin Luiga (founder of the ZA/UM Cultural Movement), Lenval Brown (narrator of Disco Elysium), Piotr Sobolewski (former CEO of Knights of Unity), and Paweł Błaszczak (composer on The Witcher and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt).

We are currently moving into early production, building out the foundational systems, characters, and mechanics that will define the experience. With your help, we can transform Hopetown from a great CRPG into an unforgettable one — a living, breathing universe of stories, surprises, and challenges.

About Us

Longdue is a studio founded to create rich, emotional, story-first games that challenge players' expectations. We're a remote team of writers, artists, designers, and engineers, bringing together talent from across the industry to push the boundaries of narrative-driven RPGs.

We are still early in production — meaning new team members will have a real, tangible impact on the world we are building. We believe that extraordinary games can come from small, focused teams — teams that value creativity, openness, and care over convention.

THE ROLE

At Longdue, we're building a 2.5D isometric RPG - focusing on lightly stylised, clean 3D shapes with a painterly and moody finish.

We're looking for a passionate 3D artist to join our small, fully remote art team. You will serve as an early addition to the team, helping create Hopetown from the ground up. You'll be modelling environments, characters and props, while working closely with the art director and art team to establish pipelines and develop the style of the game.

The ideal candidate is comfortable with every part of the 3D modelling pipeline, and has experience working effectively with concept artists, animators, riggers and tech artists. We want to see someone who is flexible, eager to iterate, comfortable with remote working, and loves narrative-driven games.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality 3D models for characters, game environments and props
  • Create hand-painted textures for props and characters
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to bring concept art to life
  • Work closely with the Art Director to develop and hone our 2.5D art style
  • Adapt to and improve on our 3D pipeline.. Contribute to the development of efficient workflows and best practices
  • Implement assets into Unity
  • Contribute to Team Discussions. Participate in creative meetings, offering ideas and insights to push the artistic vision further

Requirements

Minimum:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in 3D modelling and texturing for games
  • Experience working in Unity
  • A strong passion for games and art.
  • A strong knowledge of art theory. The ideal candidate has a good eye for composition, shape design, colour theory, and other design principles

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a small or early-stage studio, with comfort in wearing multiple hats
  • Experience with stylised or painterly visual aesthetics
  • Interest in narrative games and world-building through environmental storytelling
  • Knowledge of other parts of the pipeline, such as rigging/animation or material setup, is a plus, though not required.

OUR VALUES

We're a story-first studio driven by curiosity, creativity, and care. We believe in the power of games to move people — and in the potential of small teams to do extraordinary work. We challenge each other to push boundaries, stay open to new ideas, and always aim for meaning over convention.

We value collaboration, learning, and thoughtful critique. Everyone on the team has a voice, and we're building a culture where trust, vulnerability, and experimentation are not just welcome — they're essential.
