We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support our client in the Legal industry. This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of HR functions and contribute to creating a positive and efficient workplace. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, adaptable, and service-oriented, with a strong desire to grow their career in Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and post job descriptions, track recruitment activity, and provide regular updates to the HR Manager.
- Manage the applicant tracking system, schedule and participate in interviews, provide candidate recommendations, and handle follow-up communications.
- Lead onboarding and orientation to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries and manage the HR inbox.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and practices.
- Coordinate vacation scheduling and absentee coverage for support staff.
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, including new hires, terminations, and payroll changes.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and life-cycle updates.
- Support the performance management process by coordinating review schedules, distributing and collecting evaluations, and assisting the HR Manager with related tasks.
- Collaborate with Payroll on updates and changes to employee information.
- Contribute to special projects and other HR initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-graduate education in Human Resources.
- CHRL designation (completed or in progress).
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably within legal or professional services environments.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of ADP is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
